Question radial nerve injury

The radial nerve is shown to sensory innervate the lateral part of the dorsum of the hand and the lateral 3 and a half digits (minus their tips supplied by the median nerve); in Kaplan it also says that a wrist laceration of the radial nerve causes sensory loss ONLY on the dorsal aspect of the THUMB( first dorsal space); shouldn't it also include the entire lateral part of the dorsum of the hand & the corresponding digits?

the radial nerve supplies sensation to the lateral half of the back on the hand, excluding the digits.

so when u lesion it at the wrist you are only cutting the sensory innervation and no motor innervation. only defect is loss of sensation on the lateral half of the back of the hand (excluding the 2 fingers on that side).

ok so im a bit confused, so just to get this thing right.

The radial nerve can be injured in three places:
1- spiral groove: causing both motor (wrist drop and loss of triceps function) and sensory problems
2- axilla: causing both motor (wrist drop with no loss of triceps -Saturday night palsy) and sensory problems
3- deep branch: causing only sensory problems

close enough guys?
