Psyche Paranoid or Schizoid?

A 57-year-old man living in a condominium complex constantly accuses his neighbors of plotting to avoid payment of their share of maintenance. He writes angry letters to other owners and has initiated several lawsuits. He lives alone and does not socialize. Which Personality Disorder is this ?
  1. paranoid
  2. schizoid
  3. avoidant
  4. narcissistic

I would say schizoid, since living alone and not socializing mentioned.

Its either schizoid or paranoid ... schizoid pts tend to panic when put into a social situation but this doesn't seem like a social situation. And a schizoid wouldn't initiate contact by writing letters, filing lawsuits etc ...

I think its Paranoid Personality disorder...although I don't know what he's paranoid about ... the fact that his neighbor is plotting against paying for maintenance ?

Default I differ..

Narscistic PD .. He tries to Exaggerate his importance

Paranoid thoughts would be associated with fear or anxiety, which clearly are not there

although looking at this --plotting to avoid payment of their share

and schizoid ppl don't really write letters and create drama , like to live alone.

I would vote for Paranoid (distrust, suspiciousness), although the "living alone" part is confusing.
I think of Schizoid more like: secretive, emotionally cold

It could be part of some pd, not all, like: Narcissistic, Histrionic, Borderline.
I guess it's not a good clue on Boards, unless it fit otherwise

I my opinions Personality Disorders and Defense Mechanism are very confusing and you need ta lot of examples to get the picture.

Paranoid b/c of the lawsuits. Yes schiztypal do want to be alone all the time but the paranoid types can have this trait as well. Furthermore, the lawsuits are a way to lash out the pt's paranoia on his neighbors.
