Help Three months remaining for my prep

Hi,

I need a plan to what to read in these 3 months for step 1
i just end my cs exam, i am done from ck in Sept 2011
I read from Oct 2011 to Feb 2012 Kaplan Lecture notes except patho, micro, behavioral which i have to read them but i don't have time
1- so i planned to watch micro Kaplan video with 1st aid micro reading with uw but i will not read kaplan lec notes micro, is that good idea ?
2- what should i do for behavior since i read it in step 2 exam ? i heard video r long for behavior? should i read only 1st aid with uw for behavior

3- what to do for patho some said the kaplan video are bad and kaplan lecture notes patho bad too they say read pathology from 1st aid and collect information from uw
i plan to schedule for uw for 3 months and do it subject wise with 1st aid reading

plz advise me what to do
I am slow reader for books i know that one book reading take me 1 month
I need a plan to what to read in these 3 months

Thumbs Up

I also have 3-4 months left for my exams.
So why don't we compare notes. My schedule is there on my thread Exam in Aug last week. I will soon post a weekly schedule. I'm slow reader my self but I've almost finished KLN. In the remaining time I plan to concentrate only on Qbanks and FA.

I'll post a weekly breakdown of my prep schedule in a week. If you are interested, look out for it.

Good luck.

Default my idea..

your micro plane is good and i am doing the same also.. for pathology do Pathoma, it's very good and much much better than kaplan and much shorter than other patho books.. for Beh. science i think it worth to watch the kaplan videos.. since beh.science and pharma videos are the best from kaplan.. good luck. BTW i didn't take the exam yet i still have another 4 months for my exam.. but this is my opinion

Hi. For Micro plz do not waste time on KLN.... Just do FA n UWorld n you are good to go. For Pathology, plz plz plz do not go near to KLN or videos. Read Goljan which would cover lot of Micro review in the systemic portions too. As for Behavioural Science I would recommend watching Kaplan video at high speed like I watched on 1.67 times faster n saved a lot of time. Biostatics u have to read from KLN n after that FA with UWorld is good acc to me.

I can only suggest about material I'm familiar with. I have only done Kaplan lecture notes plus video. I started Goljan audio for Path but it is very unclear for me and very long audios for me. Yet people vouch by it. So why don't you try loading it on your mp3 player or ipod and keep listening to it while you are doing other things. I must say kaplan videos and notes both are incomplete in isolation, better if you can do with notes. If notes take very long do all the videos once then start right away with FA and UW. FA is very compact and doable even slowly in one month.
I'll post a detailed 14 week schedule starting 21st May on 15th or 16th (I'm travelling next few days) but that takes into account only Qbanks (UW and Kaplan), FA and notes I'll have to refer back to.

Hope you find this helpful.
Do tell about your CS result. Good luck.

Goljan is big but it covers lots of physio concepts too. Like fluid metabolism became totally clear to me after reading it in goljan. I have heard good things about Pathoma too but haven't used it so can't say Anyang about that. N biostatics video with FA n Uworld r good to go acc to me.
