Star A Little Encouragement. An Anecdote on Score Jumps.

Just a little encouragement...

Buds, remember when I mentioned in a thread earlier about a friend of mine who took nbme 5 offline then online. LOL! (She still placed the same answers as her offline one. She only took the online one bec. she got frustrated with the answer key and wanted to know her real score...)

Anyway, her nbme 5 (online) around two weeks ago was 215. She just took nbme 12 (online) today and scored 240. All she did was read FA (annotated with her UW and Kaplan qbank notes in it), some Goljan Rapid Review, and the usual daily block of random questions.

That's a 25-point jump in 2 weeks! And her previous score was already above 210... I just want to say that score jumps are very, very doable. Maybe all we need is to refresh all subjects as a whole by going through FA and UW notes. In fact, I strongly suggest this.

Good luck to everyone!!

P.S.

In a few months, we'll ALL be in the Step 2 forum... with a 240++ in Step 1 under our belts.

We'll ALL do great. I wish everyone the best! Happy studying!

Well said...everything is relative...if you take an nbme without reviewing one subject and on that nbme if there is a block with nothing but that one subject, your f'd lol....Best thing is to keep reviewing and hitting those weak areas....

Oh yes. You guys are right.
We should revise stuff before the nbme. Otherwise our score falls.

Btw, have both of you taken step one ? Plz share your experience. Thanx
