Arrow Test Aug 29: 13 Wks to go: next 7 days' schedule

Now it's 13 weeks to go, allowing for distractions and burnout.
This is my schedule for next week and it is much more practical than the last one because I've modified it based on my experience of last week.

Covered till last week:
KLN & videos: First Read
UW: 17%
Kbank: 15%
FA: Section 2 (General Principles), Psy and Neuro

Next week Schedule:
21/05- 26/05: 1 block of UWorld and Kaplan Qbank each
First Aid:
21/05: CVS (32pgs), Endo (16/21pgs)= 49pgs.
22/05: Endo (05pgs), GI (36pgs), Hemat/ Onco (10/31pgs) = 51pgs.
23/05: Hemat/Onco (21pgs), Musculoskeletal (29pgs) = 50pgs.
24/05: Renal (22pgs), Reproductive (27pgs) = 49pgs.
25/05: Resp (20pgs), Rapid Review (19pgs) = 39pgs.
26/05: [Saturday] Cover any pending pages of FA, do Qbanks and Then CHILL.
27/05: UWSA 1.

I'm taking my 1st Self Assessment next week. Hope to be through with FA and 1/4th of the Qbanks by then. Will it be too early to do so?

Now off to dreamland .

Thumbs Down Update Day 1

Things covered today:
UW 1 block
Kbank 1 block, still need to review it and scored 59% . When will it go up, I wonder!!
CVS from FA.

As is clear, I have started the week slow already. Some distractions today.
Anyways, minor change in Schedule instead of Endo I'll start with Renal since it is more related to CVS physiology and will do Endo later.
Will try to do 15-16pgs Renal today, maybe .

Tomorrow's target:
Finish Renal from FA and hopefully GI
1 block of UW and KBank.

Hope tomorrow will be better.

Info Update Day 2

Things covered today:
UW 1 block
Kbank 1 block
FA: Renal, half of GIT

First Aid is painfully slow. I hope the second read will be better. I haven't read it once and it has already started to come apart that too in parts I haven't touched yet.

Tomorrow's target:
1 block of UW and KBank.
FA: Finish GIT, 15pgs Hemat/Onco chap.

Sunday is approaching so quickly. I don't know if I'll be able to finish 1 read of FA by that time! .

Default Update Day 2

I thought I'll sleep early yesterday but then couldn't. So I finished GIT from FA.
Hence new target for today:
Hemat/Onco (31pgs), Musculoskeletal (20pgs)

Once in the whole week was I able to do as I planned. !

Angry Update Day 3

Did UWorld 1 block and after getting consistently ~60% in the last 10 tests I got 52% Today.

SOOOOO FRUSTRATING! All silly mistakes or What dafuq type questions!

Hence, No more studying today.. Off to the movies. Will see what I can do tomorrow.

Angry Very very frustrating

A very very frustrating day came to an end. I did one block of UWorld questions & decided to take the day off but even as I watched movies & caught up with friends I couldn't completely shut it off from my mind.

So at the end of the day I don't feel relaxed at all. This is so irritating.
.

Schedule modified:
NO Qbanks tomorrow. Thank God I took such long subscriptions of these Qbanks, at least I'm not running against that deadline.
Try to finish the rest of FA in one day (~141pgs) Given my speed of doing 20pgs/90min I think in 9hrs I can do 120pgs. A 10hr day tomorrow may help me get over this rut.

Off to sleep, need to recharge for tomorrow.

Unhappy Update Day 4

I feel less frustration today as I was partly able to finish what I planned to do.

Today's target was: Remaining 141 pgs of FA
Remaining now: 39pgs
I will try to finish Resp today before I sleep (20pgs =~1.5hrs)
Tomorrow's target: Finish whatever is left of Resp, Rapid Review(19pgs) from FA.
Review Wrong answers from Tests 1-4 of Uworld & Kbank.
Start 2nd read Micro from KLN, only notes without videos. Will update FA from my notes of KLN this time.

No more Qbanks this week till I take my Self Assessment.
I've finished 26% of UWorld and 23% of Kbank and clearly I haven't studied enough to score well. Hence, I'll hold them till I've read a bit more.

I'll modify the schedule for next week again on Sunday. No schedule I make seems to last for >1 week .

Thumbs Down Update Day 5

If I waste any more time, I'd get a reward for it.

Today:
Did only 19pgs from FA
12pages of Micro 2nd read

No Qbanks, review

Tomorrow:
Repeat RR of FA
Review Qbanks done so far
Relax.. as if any more relaxing is mandated

Sunday: My 1st Self Assessment UWSA.. Let's see.

Post Update Day 6

Today:
Repeated RR from FA
Did ~20pgs of Virology from KLN
Reviewed wrong/marked questions of 2 Kbank and 3 UWorld Qbanks.
Chilled out! It's saturday evening.

Tomorrow:
UWSA 1- The first real assessment with 12 weeks to go.
Will draw new schedule based on that.

Trying to get a good night's sleep. Will sit through 4 hrs tomorrow !

Thanks @drnitowl

Unhappy Update Day 7

Did UWSA 1 this morning.
Got 3digit equivalent of 212. Got 58% in a block .
Thank God there's 12 weeks to go :sorry:.

Systems that bombed :
-CVS
-Neuro & spl senses
-Hemat & lymphoreticular
-Musculoskeletal, skin & conn tissue

Subdivisions that bombed :
-Bchem & genetics
-Behavioral Science
-Pharm
-Histo & cell biology
-Physio
-Gen principles of health & disease
-Anat & Embryo

Clearly not ready & lot of work needed in lot of areas.
Next week's schedule will come up by tonight. Right now, I feel drained after 4 straight hours & this ridiculous score so I'll take a nap.

I don't know . This is what I got ! Actually I got >63% in the highest scoring block but I wasn't consistent in all four blocks.
From what I gather from this forum, UW over predicts by 20-30. So I'm going to take this as an assessment of where I stand today i.e. borderline- could just pass.
I've just about 3months till my Step 1 so this means I can do well if I can keep the momentum going.
I will take my first NBME in 2 weeks from now.
Perhaps someone who is more experienced could give a better opinion.

yes i've done little research on usmleworld forum and about 65 % corresponds to 224 3 digit score, about 70 % - 231. keep on going. i've done uwsa 2 today and got 66% i think it overestimates too. got about 63 anwers incorrect.

the tests seemed to be more "recall" that the "figuring out concepts"
my eligibility period is till end of October and i haven't sheduled exam. i haven't done FA either uw yet.

going to stick to them in july-august and than i'll do nbme and probably shedule it.

so good luck. i think we're in the same boat aroud 200-210 three month is the very good time to cement our knowledge

My eligibility is also till Oct but I'm targeting 29th Aug so that I have enough opportunity to postpone if I feel the need to . Guess we are in the same boat all right.
Even I felt there was a lot of recall & I'm reviewing now & I have made some really dumb mistakes in Biostats too .

What's your prep schedule like? I'll post my schedule for next week in a new thread tonight.

Keep me posted on your progress. I think we have a really good chance here 'coz we have time on our side.
Cheers to us!

Info Update Day 7

This schedule was more practical than the one before but I just burnt out by the middle of the week. Hence I've made a schedule for the next fortnight that is less loaded than this one. One big relief is that FA is done with for now & I was able to do just start with my second read of KLN. Won't do Kaplan videos this time since I made notes from the videos the 1st time around. Took me >6months to do just that .

Next fortnight schedule is on this link 12 weeks to go: next 14days schedule

I'm not doing Goljan but I'll do DIT in July. Good luck with your prep
