Question Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma Function Cells

A 60-year-old man with a previously history of small lymphocytic lymphoma presents to your office with increased fatigue, anorexia, and a weight loss of 2,3 Kg(5 lbs) in the last month. Laboratory studies show a total leukocyte count of 20,000/mm3. What is the normal function of the neoplastic cell seen in this patient with small lymphocytic lymphoma?


A) Active other cells, such as cytotoxic T lymphocytes or B lymphocytes, by costimulation
B) Directly phagocytose bacteria and kill with an oxidative respiratory burst
C) Recognize antigens on virus infected host cells and destroy the infected cells
D) Act as members of the adaptive immune system and produce antibodies
E) Serve as the primary mode of oxygen transport in the body

SLL is a Small mature Bcell lymphoma .. May progress to CLL .. Coincidentally I was studying the same
