USMLE Scores Step 1 Score 234/84

scored 234 on step 1 , however my two-digit score says 84 only, is 234 a good score? how come the correlation has changed over the years?

Default the step 1 preparation lies in consistency in your qbanks

i have to say that kaplan videos are merely a repetition of the kaplan notes, hence i decided to focus only on the kaplan notes, just one reading is enough, then next thing is to start doing questions which is the ideal way to review what you read in the notes and perfect your understanding of the exact pathophysiology. i did usmleworld in the first place, making notes as i went through questions and answers. i averaged 77%. i did kaplan next, found the qbank questions harder did 4 sets of simulated tests, averaged 74%. i last did the nbme tests which predicted a score around 228-229. endpoint is nbme score is the best estimator of your usmle score. the step 1 exam has changed over the years with much more emphasis being put on immunology, behavioural sciences and pharmacology. i had few anatomy and microbiology questions. the immunlogy questions were tough. i completed all my sets ahead of the alloted time, however, i never went back to my marked questions. statistically speaking, people are more likely to change an incorrect answer into a correct one. the take home advice is to never be afraid to review your marked questions and if your guts tell you to change the answer, then do it. i'm pretty sure i would have got an even better score had i reviewed my marked questions. anyways, good luck ahead. i'll be giving my step 2 ck in some months. will pour in feedback and experiences from time to time.

oh man, it really amazes me how people taking this exam have no idea about the scoring
you would think if you are going to dedicate all this studying to an exam, you would want to read a little bit on the scoring system
ugh
anyways, the 2 digit scoring changed back in october.
more information can be found on usmle.org
3 digit score is the only thing that matters, 2 digit scores are not sent anywhere anymore.
3 digit is your score.
