Bones Osteomyelitis Site; Children versus Adults?

Most common site of osteomyelitis in children is metaphysis but in adults it is epiphysis. reason ?

because the Blood supply of different parts of the bone changes as u age. And as u know probably Osteomyelitis is aquired hematogenously.

According to UWorld, the most common site of ADULT hematogenous osteomyelitis is VERTEBRAL BODY...which is also the site for mycobacterium tuberculosis osteomyelitis (Potts disease).
