USMLEWorld Fluctuation in USMLE World Score!

Hello! I am posting this for a friend of mine who has finished his kaplan step1 lectures ONCE then he finished first aid ONCE ........ he is short of time so he has started doing uworld (random mode) and these are his scores

52,56,67,69,71,58,52,54

The question is ....... is this variation in score (from 52 to 71 and then back to 54 ) experienced by everyone and if yes then whats the next best step ( keep in mind that he has yet to appear in CK and its the time factor because of which he cannot go through Kaplan lectures again)

your input will be highly appreciated

It depends on many factors.. When you take the block, how much you are concentrating.. and there are some blocks that by chance are harder than others..
so fluctuation is normal..
but if you want my advice, I think you should evaluate your progress by the lowest marks not the highest, so you will not have any false confidence and stay on the safe side

Agree esp with evaluation part! Scores fluctuate & depend on a lot of things.
I have realized the biggest effect is distractions while doing the block but that's what we do QBanks for.
