USMLEWorld USMLE World Self Assessments (UWSAs), Are they any good?

I was just wondering how useful these UWSA's are. I'm planning to subscribe to UW qbank for 1 month (almost finished with the offline version once). SO i was wondering if i shud subscribe to the qbak only or get the UWSAs as well

Do they give any prediction of your exam score? DO they ask questions from the UW qbank or they have some new questions there? I guess its useless if their questions are just from the qbank!

Please advice!

the questions are not from the qbank
they are slightly easier in difficulty than the qbank (as is the actual step exam).
they overpredict by 10-20pts.

if i could redo it, i wouldn't buy uwsa 2 coz it is just like buying some extra questions, not an evaluation...i dont know if you can find them offline but it is noway worth to buy it as an exam.

uwsa 1 is worth buying, in my opinion.

NBME's are the assesments you use during your prep.

UWSA are the asessments you use the week leading up to your exam (i.e. for confidence).

if ur looking for a confidence booster, taking a UWSA the week before your exam might be a good idea.
Just a thought that crossed my mind.

Take both UWorld exams! it might not be a perfect predictor but I heard that the real test is really close to the UWorld questions. I'm not sure when you are taking your exam....just to give you an idea ...I have a total of 6 weeks to study for this exam ( 4 weeks down, two more to go...yay) and my plan is memorize Uworld and first aid. 4 weeks ago I was at a 220 now my nbme claims Im at a 240 so I guess its working =)

I have a confusion regarding UWSA now. I bought the 1month qbank along with 2 UWSA's. I activated the qbank but not the UWSA's yet. My question is when can i use them? It says UWSA(2weeks) and UWSA(2weeks) what does that mean? DO i have to do them before my 1 month ends? or i can do them after that as well?? im totally confused.

You can do them after you have finished your qbank as well. Once you activate the UWSA tests, you will have 15 days to finish it and go over the explanations. And you can activate them separately meaning first you can activate UWSA 1 and finish it in 15 days and then you can activate UWSA 2 and you will have another 15 days to finish it. From what you have mentioned in your post it looks like you haven't activated them yet, so no reason to worry.

Ok thank you. But i bought them together with a month of the qbank. SO the UWSA's will be valid EVEN AFTER the qbank expires right???
yeah i hv nt activated them yet. thanks again
