Kaplan Medical Kaplan USMLE Step 1 Qbank

hello folks!

I'm stuck in my first read and i think i need to start Kaplan Step 1 Qbank about which i had some specific queries:

1. Is there a provision in kaplan qbank to select questions from a chapter of a specific subject e.g., ans pharma or cvs physio?

2. Can kaplan qbank be accessed on non-android, non-iOS mobile internet? (such a weird question!)

3. Can i sacrifice kaplan qbank as a learning tool? (another one!)

Actually I plan to finish a chapter and review it from kaplan qbank. So it requies me to go for a 12 month subscription. I have a few pre occupations for this decisions: one, studying with questions helps in better understanding; two, choosing right question source is important - uw would have been a better choice but i want to leave uw exclusively for later; three, i believe i can't go through these two qbanks one after other right away later; four, kaplan qbank is better done than not if one has time. How nearer to truth are my pre-occupations?

As a side question, can one choose Nov-Dec-Jan as 3 months eligibility period for step 1 since the months fall in two adjacent years and not in a single year?

Thanks in advance.

I have an answer to your first question: there are following disciplines you can create tests on - the number of the questions (I asked that here recently and got detailed info ):

Behavioral Science - 99
Biochemistry - 61
Biostatistics - 25
Cell Biology - 27
Embryology - 43
Genetics - 56
Gross Anatomy - 202
Histology - 20
Immunology - 105
Microbiology - 224
Molecular Biology - 34
Pathology - 568
Pathophysiology - 312
Pharmacology - 269
Physiology - 176

There's also Organ systems division - you can choose from. e.g. you can mark cardio and anatomy. You can mark 'all' systems also.

Hope that helps

Are yo talking about KAPLAN Qbank? Coz I'm using it and there is no such option to choose any subjects.

Correct Answer

@ drssbaz : is that really not so?? Actually later today, i checked out the free sample qbank offered online on kaplan's website and there really was provision to choose organ and subject both at the same time, like i selected cardio and pharma. So it should also be present in the full online Kaplan Qbank subscription.

I'm sorry I got confused with something else. I came online just to correct my comment.
