Help Things that Don't Work for my Prep

Hi fellows,

After making and breaking a new schedule repeatedly for 5 weeks in a row I landed myself in a state of Panic 2 days back. Everything was black & I thought I could go nowhere with my prep. Had it not been for some serious encouragement from this forum.. I don't know what I would have done.

I'm sharing these here because I'm wondering if it's only me or there are others out there who feel the same.

So I took some time off to look at why I wasn't able to stick to my schedule and these are the things that I figured were not working for me:

1. First Aid is good but trying to annotate it too much is a waste of time.
I was trying to make it a compact All in One from all sources but I realized that it was taking a hell of a lot of time.

2. Trying to note every concept from the Qbanks.
I realized that after doing a repeated number of times, there is no need to go through things that you are absolutely sure of again.

3. Study Partner: Just Didn't Work for me.

4. Trying to meddle with new resources: I tried to do Goljan audio when I had 10 weeks to go. While agree that he is good I felt it is a bit too late in the day for me. Trying to keep up with it for the first time now, turned out to be too much.

5. Not taking your Time Off: That's the greatest sin I realized. I stopped taking my breaks because I wasn't able to finish my targets even when I set lower & lower daily targets. Result: I'm writing this post today.

So I have decided to:
1. Stick to my primary material i.e. Kaplan LN & FA separately. Won't try to integrate them. It is not possible to take down 7 books into 1 which is coming off its seams already.
2. Take very selective notes from Qbanks. I guess I can do that because I'm done with >50% of both UW & Kbank.
3. No more online study partners.
4. No new resources except DIT which is supposed to be done close to exams & isn't exactly new since it is based on FA.
5. I'm Not Giving Up On My Breaks, Come Hell or High Water.

I am using very limited resources but that's what I plan to stick to.
Maybe I've posted this just to get some reassurance after that Breakdown 2 days back.

Waiting to listen what you all have to say.

I had found this on the forum earlier:
http://www.torrentdownloads.net/torr...+1+Course+2011
See if it works. I was planning to buy it from their website in Jul. I realized that the real thing pays off better.
The DIT website is
http://www.doctorsintraining.com/usmle-step-1/why-dit

Hope that helps.
