UWSA1: 222
NBME 17: 207

My goal is realistically a 230+, i have two weeks left... Checked where i was weak on at its basically concentrated in Nero,Muscle skeletal,Anatomy and bio stat..

Hi rav2113
Don't panic!!Studyhard for a week, review your weaker sections carefully and give another NBME and see if it improved.Otherwise extend if you can and review in greater depth.Hope this helps!
good luck

- First breath deep in and out! you are almost there.
- You know your stuff.
- Don't stress for things you don't know. there will be things in the that tests that we will not know and its ok. it's about the 90% of things you do know.
- Focus on the 90%
- Review your weak areas in your NBME's. Those are usually the deal breaker when it comes to the scores.
- Try to relax the day before the whole day or at least 1/2 day.
- Make a list of things you usually forget or formulas you must know and review them.
- TRUST in yourself
- BELIEVE in yourself
- You made it this far! YOU WILL ROCK IT!!!
- Trust your gut instinct and don't doubt yourself when solving the questions.
- Your first instinct is almost always right!
- GOOD LUCK and let us know how it went.

- For biostats I really recommend this website: http://www.stomponstep1.com/ it's free and the videos are 5-7 min long. they are on point and very helpful.
- For Neuro/Muscular skeletal/Anatomy I am using the high yield gross anatomy and its awesome. it has colorful pics and its on point.

GOOD LUCK and keep practicing those.

Default Thanks guys

Just got threw studying muscle skeletal/ skin. Studied from FA, pathoma, and did Uworld question on just that section. Now I am off to study neuro.. I am soo terrified of anatomy and biostat... thanks for the advice carbadoc I'll leave biostatistics for last...

Went over my NBME notice that I missed some questions, not because I didn't know, but because I rushed the question , it may sound ridiculous but I tend do better on longer questions then shorter ones lol

Thanks again for reply

Use your NBME score report to see where you lack, and focus more on that section, master it well before solving other forms.

(To be taken with a grain of salt)
Ask yourself if you would be happy with your scores in the NBME range.
I would always keep an open mind to extend my test, If I don't see my targets on NBMEs.

NBME 15,17,18 predicted my score with an accuracy of +-2.
I wish you all the best

Hey guys I took NBME 18 , I been studying 14 hrs straight since last nbme , and I got a 195 my grade is just getting lower for some reason... I am so discouraged I am going to obviously postpone my test... I don't even know what to do... previous nbme showed me above average performance in some topics and now they show below average.... My grades are just fluctuating now.. I already finished uworld once and got a 60 and second time I am averaging 80s.. I already did nbme 15 nbme nbme 17 nbme 18... I am like running out of sources....

Hey, hang in there you are doing ok! From what I've seen NBME 18 seems the most difficult because it is the newest one. Are you reading First Aid? Did you notice a pattern in your mistakes on NBMEs? Don't be discouraged, many of us here are in the same situation.

What have you done so far? Do you understand everything that is in First Aid? Have you done Pathoma? Memorize some micro and pharm, learn biostats equations (youtube is awesome for this subject). Did you finish all of Uworld? If your problem is with questions, then you need to "simulate" the exam experience more. Don't just read First Aid passively, you need to memorize the info and make sure you understand as well. The most important thing you can do after an NBME is review your mistakes and learn from them. As long as you understand why you got the question wrong that's already progress.

I know it must be difficult, but I think you may have problems with test-taking. Also, as strange as this may sound... but where were you when you were taking your NBME? I discussed with a few people that some say they have better concentration and better performance when they go into a room into the library or anywhere to have a "computer station" just like during the real exam. Don't sit back in your pajamas at home and take an NBME in full-relaxed mode (I did that last week and it was a terrible idea). I'll be taking my next NBME in the library and I will have 1 piece of paper, a pen, and chapstick. That's it! Focus as if it was the real exam. Read VERY carefully.
