Default DIT july

i watch DIT videos from 6am to 12pm (including breaks, pausing to answer questions, and all that) i take a 2 hour break for lunch (12 to 2) and then i do uworld from 2pm to 5pm (answering and correcting and all)! and from 5pm to 7pm i review everything that i did on that day (like the things that i didn't get that much, or what is high yield, stuff like that)

how about you!

Really? Dr. Jenkins?? What does he do apart from reading out FA?

I feel all the guys on DIT cant teach to save their lives. Kaplan teachers are thousand times better!

I agree

Starting DIT from 15 Jul. Planning to finish by 31st. Target is 4hrs of videos per day.
And, I gave trial run to it, I got bored in 17'06". So I don't know how I'll spend 6 hrs a day on it. The workbook is good though.

Yeap... this is what I mean... sometimes could be boring, but the workbook and the way Dr. Jenkins tends to recall some facts, really helps to cement clue concepts in "FA"

Wish you the best...

P.S
I'm on day 10...

Started DIT today after a lot of procrastinating. While it becomes a drag at times it is not all that bad. In fact if Jenkins did not have that smirk it could even be good. Any ways, much better than going through FA all by itself. Finished two lectures of Day 1 today. Hope to pick up speed tomorrow.

Wow. If it's as boring as people say it is, I'm going to treat myself to a $5 Caramel Latte at starbucks at least every 2 days for those 15 days. I usually always get a $1 cup of coffee or tea (that I barely enjoy), but with the way some of you are scaring me, calls for desperate measures......and a desperate treat!

Keep us updated on your DIT progress and if it really helps. Also i do appreciate letting us know your study approach to DIT and FA, schedule wise.

Unhappy No more DIT for me...

So I've decided to chuck DIT since it was taking ages and I was sleeping off in the middle of it. Thank God I took some advice earlier and did not take the paid version of it.
I will do the workbook if possible. As such it has cost me 04 days. .

Can someone please send me a link for the 2011 videos? Are they still online? I'm planning on starting DIT in about 4 weeks, but not sure if I'll have time with everything else. Just bought the 2012 kaplan notes and planning on starting those after Pathoma is done next week.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna kick DIT away for now. It's boring to death. I think I'll be better off reading FA on my own. It will take longer....but at least I won't feel like dying. I wonder how some of my friends did DIT 3X...I prefer doing Kaplan 15 times!!!

Watching lectures from anyone(i.e. DIT, Kaplan) is annoying for me. I've got the attention span of a goldfish!

That said, there are some that are worth my time like Pathoma, Goljan, and some of the Kaplan videos....and even if I feel I'm going to die of boredom, gotta do it.

So you're just going to read FA on your own? I fail to see the greatness of DIT. They give me a list of things to memorize...like FA, but in audio. I do, however, like the organization and the quizzes. Eventually it's something I will do (since I payed for it) but IMO, not needed @ all.

I didn't even do a full day. It's not so much that it's boring, because it really isn't that horrible (at least he's cute) but I feel like I should read FA on my own first.

There is nothing in that FA book that I don't understand. It just aches putting my mind to work to memorize all of those details. But I can certainly do it on my own. Like I said though, I will use DIT...just not before I read FA first on my own and take an NBME. If I'm above 230 already, I will not do DIT at all as many members here say it's a waste of your time. I think that there is a threshold for DIT at a max of 230 and that's in combination with UW (and even then, that's only if you're a good test taker). I know this because many of my friends who are A+ students, and studied their butts off for a whole year did not achieve above 225 using DIT (w/ RR, qbank, UW) and not more comprehensive resources like Kaplan.

I'll edit this some other time. But IMO, DIT is for those that really CAN'T..for the life of them, do FA on their own.

If you've done kaplan, getting through FA on your own should be a fairly simple task. Starting to do it is the is the hardest part.

FA team did a brilliant job of note-taking from more comprehensive sources. We purchased a book that did the note-taking part for us.

Default DIT videos

Hi guys,

your input is tremendous...keep walking!

I have an important question: I downloaded several days ago the USMLE step 1 Review study guide 2012 edition...is this the only written material for DIT? Can any of you, please, send me the corresponding videos or at least some instructions from where I can download them?
my email is helen.santa@yahoo.com

I would be extremely grateful.
thank you.

Hey Buddy! Thanks for putting my thoughts into words You may have the attention span of a Goldfish but you can analyze quite well. DIT or no DIT we are going to make it. There are no guarantees anywhere anyways!
I'm trying to just read FA as many times as possible, not memorize, because I SUCK (with capitals) at memorization.
Good luck to us!
