Smile Finally... 264/90!!

I'm finally done [264/271/PASS]

It was most unexpected since all I read was FA!!! Not kidding, but I read it like 5 times from cover to cover. My studying period was about 4 months of EXTENSIVE studying.
I did 2 months of UW with an average of 81%.
Both UW self ass. forms 1&2 = 265

More than 90% of the exam questions are found in FA and UW. every block had 4-6 questions that needed some extra thinking or sometimes just guessing!

It was a wonderful but exhausting journey that was made much easier with the help of this forum and its members, thank you all.

Wish you best of luck

p.s. here's my CK experience:

Thanks, I did not have a good basic knowledge before i started, I graduated 2 years ago, but the clinical experience I gained from studying the CK was of enormous help, my best performance was the pathology which is the basis of IM.

The immunology explained in the FA and questioned in the UW is more than enough, but it should be memorized very well, as I was asked directly about the CD's and cells bearing them!!
I haven't watched any videos... its hard to believe, I know, but I feel that I can accomplish a lot more from reading than watching, since you eventually have to memorize it.

that' an awesome score ! congratulations

I'm also preparing mainly from 1st aid, my exam is a month from now....that' very comforting knowing I can achieve this without going through all those books

2 questions please

1) I'm averaging 77% in UW but still have 50% of questions to do....do u think it's a good predictor...and how can I improve ?

2) 264 is a very high score so why the two digit score is not 99 ! (I know this question is for ECFMG but I've seen many results like this so I had to ask)

congratulations again

Thank you,
1) The UW average is usually a good predictor, 77% is very good. Try to concentrate more when doing the rest, and try take notes on your FA which will help you remember your mistakes. Save 7-10 days at the end to go over the FA and review the difficult topic that need memorizing.

2) I really don't know how the two digit is calculated recently, but as long as its not reported, I don't care!

Good Luck

Thanks,

I haven't done any NBMEs since my UW self-ass. was really good, but I was told that the NBMEs give a closer approximation.

Good Luck
