Tuberous sclerosis is an autosomal dominant syndrome characterized by cutaneous angiofibromas (adenoma sebaceum), seizures, and mental retardation. Pathological lesions include CNS hamartomas and benign neoplasms, renal and other visceral cysts, a variety of other hamartomas, and cardiac rhabdomyomas.
