Post dipyridamole.....

q) a 56 yr old female...a known DVT pt. attacked by an accident nearby by a truck and diagnosed with a femoral neck fracture...she is operated well but little hypotensive since her treatment...her current b.p is 90/60 mmhg...her past history includes asthma for which she is not on any medication....as much concerned about her condition the physician starts a new drug for her prevention of exacerbation of thrombus, dipyridamole for treatment.....which of the following mechanism of action of the drug is most inappropriate...?

a) inhibits phosphodiesterase
b) inhibits adenosine deaminase

yup, the correct answer is C) inhibit phospholipase c

dipyridamole is used to prevent thrombus formation, and also can decrease pulmonary hypertension without affecting systemic blood pressure(no change)

it inhibits thromboxane synthase----so, inhibit bronchoconstriction, platelet aggregation
it increases adenosine uptake into cells.....also inhibits adenosine deaminase
