Default Exam experience

I'm done! I'm free! I'm alive again!
I don't how I did, but to be honest I don't have that relieved feeling everyone talks about. I feel pretty lousy.

After doing the exam, I have some general tips based my own personal experience:

- Each and every block should be followed by a break.
Regarding break-time, it's more than enough. Just be sure to time yourself.
Even if you feel fine, take a break.

- The adrenaline-rush will take a toll on your appetite so don't forget to eat!
A snicker bar, a sandwich, some juice, anything.
Personally, I had something to eat or drink after each and every block. Even though I didn't feel the need at the time, at the end of the day I was concentrating what little energy I had left into focusing on the questions.

- Caffeine is your friend, it's a good thing. But too much of a good thing becomes counter-productive.
I had a cup of coffee in the morning and a red bull with lunch. Needless to say, I felt shaky and tense in the end.

- Get yourself ready for the last block, it's going to be the toughest. Give yourself a pep-talk and remember that even though you're almost done, you still have 46 questions left!
I messed up my last block big time. Everything was going fine until I hit the last block. I'm not sure if the block was hard or I became fatigued.

----------------------------------------------------------------

The meat of the thread:

- The vast majority of my questions came one way or another from FA and UW.

- My exam was almost 50% easy questions, 30% medium questions, 20% hard questions.

- I had one ECG question, and 3 media heart-sounds questions.
As usual the question stem was enough. The media was just an extra clue.

- Honestly, my exam felt like NBME 13.
I know no one said that before, but that's truly what I felt while doing it.
Then again, maybe it was because NBME 13 was my last NBME.

----------------------------------------------------

The general method all of us are using is almost a full-proof plan. This is a fair exam, all you need is hard work and dedication and this exam will give you what you deserve.

I started out with an NBME score of 165 mid-way during my prep, I was devastated. 4 NBME's later, I took NBME 13 and scored 221, I was thrilled.

If a below-average student that has a 165 in his record can reach 221 on NBME 13, then this exam truly is "doable".
This isn't just an exam, it's a life-experience. Keep at it, and after you're done you will be so proud of yourself.
