Goljan Alternative to Goljan Rapid Review Pathology Book

Hello folks,

I need an advise regarding BRS Pathology...I have done Goljan RR once but it took me good 1.5 month to finish with it since i was doing job with it...I wana switch over to a reasonable alternative which either would be KAPLAN or BRS pathology or alternatively FA pathology section combined with Goljan RR audio lecture notes..
I have exam planned by the end of this year, which option should I opt for?

P.S: i have seen the poll for best book for pathology in which Kaplan is ranked above BRS. but it didn't serve well to my bout of anxiety!

Ya you can switch to any other alternative but if you spent 1.5 months to do Goljan rapid review. Why don't you stick to that. Its a golden book among all others. I also spent lot of time on it and now while doing second read its more easy to deal with and don't take much time. So instead for going to whole new source. I would recommend stick to the one for which you spent 1.5 months of your prep. As if you don't review it again. You will not able to remember most of it( so it will be kinda wastage of your 1.5 months).

Meanwhile FA is just a cream book for Step 1. No matter how many books you do, you have to do that book.
Anyways final choice depends on you. So think smart

hey!

If you've already went through Goljan then why go to another? I didn't read Goljan I did only FA and BRS for patho...BRS is pretty much the same as FA, just the additional 1st two chapters of basic patho and some facts, all these I found low-yield and weren't tested in Qbanks....My exam is in 3 weeks and I feel very strong in patho just using FA and Qbanks (UW)

so my point is that BRS won't add anything essential to your knowledge especially that you've read Goljan....you decide based on your exam date

hey thanks koolkiller for your support bud, but the problem is i did goljan long time ago and im looking for a reasonable replacement which helps me ace the exam and not just clear it...i have done Big + Med Robbins back in med school so its not that the concepts are weak or anything but you knw all that matters in this exam is fresh knowledge and for that purpose you need to cram your ass off! so considering that fact now suggest me kaplan or brs?

hey thanks meddoc for reassuring that BRS doesnt do additional wonders to your knowledge...so im guessing than fa+UW would be more then enough to nail it? or should i do kaplan as well?

Then I would recommend u pathoma ( it's a kinda new source but have ver positive reviews. I personally saw that book and stuff is written as its in BRS. So may be you can try pathoma and ya they have videos for each chapter. That would be beneficial too.
Kaplan lack lot of high yield stuff.
BRS- I haven't did it personally. Just read one chapter and think pathoma is better then that.
Regarding pathoma: you can download its previous version with videos from torrent.
