Unhappy I am shocked with my Step 1 Score

199/77 step1
After lots of hard work and UW, FA, and Kaplan q bank
and more than 230 scores in various nbmes did all the offline nbmes
I was supposed to take my step1 exam on 13 august because of some technical problem at prometric center i could not take my exam after sleepless night. it was really heart broking and depressing for me
but some how i manage to reschedule my exam on 16 august and i took my exam and finally got such a bad score 199/77
I am not able to accept my score
some buddy please suggest what shoud i do now i am very much depressed and frustrated seems like my usmle career is finished shud i prepare for step 2 or if i can retake my step1 exam if ecfmg people consider thier fault at prometric ....

thats sad. they cant allow you rewrite it.
just put it behind you and move on to step2, try & do your best in remaining steps..you still have room to improve your chances to match (people have matched with less scores)

I can understand how it feels..i was getting above 220's in the nbme's and my final step 1 score came out to be just 202..it was depressing as hell..but u should definitely move on and work hard to get a good step 2 ck score..that'll help..plus try to apply with step 3 score in hand..d only thing is dont give up

sorry to hear about that. please try online nbme's next time as they are more accurate. I hope you do really well on your Step 2 ck/cs and match into a good field. It isn't impossible thats for sure.

I'm also sorry to hear that. I hope you do better on your step ck. Just don't give up.

See, stuff like this scares me so much. I've always been pretty good on exams and when I have to know my stuff, I know my stuff. However, as of now you can name me Murphy's Law because my luck is not always the best.

I'm preparing for a test in which I will probably get most questions on something very obscure. I'm mentally preparing to having power-issues at prometric center that should be enough to cause my answers to get erased.
And, even if I score super high on NBME's, my luck will make sure I don't do as well on the real deal.

That said, that's just my luck. I also have God who makes sure I'm treated fairly.

Good luck on your following endeavors. Hang in there, it's a bumpy ride and no one said it was easy.

Yeah, NBMEs are to be used online regardless on how short on money you may be.

Many people miscalculate, get a higher score on the offline version, and then with a false high-score go to the test.

Only 2 things in this whole process need to be legit; UW and NBME. Rest you can get it through "non-ethical" ways (support good authors though).
