Default Trust my tutor or not?

I know that she has very good experience in tutoring. She insists if we want to get high scores in USMLE step 1 we have to read all these huge books, such as Devlin's Biochemistry, Robbins's Pathology etc. What do you advise? P.S. I'm 4th year student now and want to pass the exam at the end of the 5th course.

Ignore that " advice " and watch kaplan lectures + notes + Goljian RR + UW + FA.
Gold standard

Just read this post. I think it does a good job of explaining the situation you're facing.

Default hi

i myself and all of my friends were never great at basics but never read thick books and all of us got very good scores on Step1. so honestly i would not suggest doing that. Just read Kaplan, Path Goljan/Pathoma ,FA and UW+lots of questions. the more material you will read the less you will retain for the actual test. we need to work smart n not work too hard because you will never be able to memorize everything from all those books. God luck and you will be fine

Embarrassed

Thank you for very useful advice. I can't say I know nothing in basic because I read them during these 3 years at university, so I'll do my best to pass at high score.
