Default don't think so

hello

I was thinking like you when I started my prep, to do webpath for patho..but actually most of the Qbank questions with patho pics can be answered without the pic itself...most not all....I haven't done the exam yet but I think for me just going through FA pics is enough

same thing regarding CTs/MRIs ... my basic anatomy is good so nothing more than qbanks ... make mistakes in the qbank but learn the structures and you'll get them right after that

good luck

It's importance depends on your foundation in histology and histopathplogy slides. Although clinical clues in the scenario help in diagnosis and answering the question but there are many question in the NBMEs as well as Qbanks which require you to identify the key findings and pathognominc lesions in given slide.

Step1 has multiple pathology slides. I had around 6-7 per block that makes up to around 40. And believe me if you are good at patho slides it will surely give you plus points in exam .

I had good foundation of pathology slides from med school so i didnt have any major issue in qbanks and nbmes but i realized that it can be helpful so i put some time in webpath before exam around 2 weeks before, i did almost 60% of it especially units heavily tested, like renal, CNS MI slides.

In exam in most of the cases i was able to make the diagnosis right away when i looked at the picture, it gives you the confidence that you are correct plus it saves you a lot of time as you read the question fast just not to miss anything .

In my view it can be worth time spending!

Good luck to you for preparation. Prepare well, Pathology dominates the exam!!

Goljan slides are good they can replace webpath and are more exam oriented.
I did them in medschool, didnt review it near exam though

I agree that Webpath has too many slides around 3000 actually , that is why i used it after i had covered the UW and goljan so that i can just go fastly through the slides. purpose is not to memorize but to have an orientation, i used to do a whole unit in less than an hour.
Caution: any slide of disease you havent read in step1 preparation ignore it completely.
