Correct Answer CMV is right

yes, the correct answer is B) CMV..

CMV is the most common infectious agent caused by transfused blood..it is like 50-80% common...coz CMV spreads through donor lymphocytes to the recipient..infection tend to be asymptomatic in immunocompetent recipients...severe infection is implicated in immunocompromised pts...that is the reason ,transfusing blood for children must be verified for CMV coz children's immune system is not well developed...

as for rest other options------
yersinia enterocolitica is the 2nd most common infection by transfused blood.....yersinia thrives on iron of stored blood and causes septicemia when transfused..though this infection is dangerous when compared to CMV--it is only seen in 50-57% pts..(viral infections are most common than bacterial by transfusion..but, bacterial infections are dangerous in transfusion infections)....
the other bacterial infections include------pseudomonas,staphylococcus aureus

the other viral infections transmitted by transfusion are----HIV,HCV,HBV
CJD is caused by prions causes spongiform encephalopathy...it has no role infection in transfusions....
