can anyone explain please the role of beta microglobulin in MHC CLASS 1, antigen processing?

β2 microglobulin is necessary for cell surface expression of MHC class I and stability of the peptide binding groove.
in deficiency of it u may hv less expression of MHC class 1 molecule or less functioning MHC class 1 molecule on all nucleated cells...
i dont think we hv to know this in much detail....

what would the deficiency of alpha 2 microglobulin cause?
am autoimmune or an immunodeficiency disease?
