A 35-year-old Asian male is brought to hospital after a gunshot on street. He got a wound at left shoulder, and complains about the weakness of left arm. Physical examination shows weak pulses in both radial and ulnar artery. Ultrasound is taken right after physical examination, revealing an aneurysm within axilla. Which of the following structures is most likely injured by the aneurysm?

A. Musculocutaneous nerve
B. Axillary nerve
C. Medial cord of brachial plexus
D. Lower trunk of brachial plexus
F. Humeral artery

B. Axillary nerve
An aneyresm at the Brachial artery "as we can derive from the case" would maily compress the Posterior Cord of the brachial plexus and the only nerve that orginate from the Posterior Cord and mentioned in the question is the Axillary Nerve.

Aneurysm of the Axillary artery ('within the axilla') will cause compression of brachial plexus cords. Now I'm a bit confused about the 'injured' part. Axillary nerve would be indirectly affected but the cord/s are affected first. I will go with C.

Default The answer is C

The axillary aneurysm will compress the structure named axillary sheath, which includes axillary artery and three cords of brachial plexus. Among the five choices, only Choice C fits into this picture.

Axillary nerve branches from the posterior cord and not within the axillary sheath, so the aneurysm will not possibly directly compress the nerve.
