Question How long should I dedicate to..?

Hi guys,

I'm starting to prep for my step1 exam. I'm trying to come up with a study plan but I have no idea how much time I should dedicate to going over all of Kaplan LN+videos. my initial plan was to give it about 3 months but I feel like maybe thats too long? I read on this forum that some people went through the whole thing in 1.5 months. How did you guys do that? I'm trying to read the section and then watch the video pertaining to it in the morning and then in the afternoon I would just go over it again, memorize things and annotate FA. It's taking forever. I've started yesterday and I'm already thinking that maybe I should reassess my study plan?

Any thoughts/suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for your reply. Were you doing a chapter a day ? are you trying to memorize at the same time? 7 months sounds amazing! I wish I had that much time but i need to start my clinical rotations soon or else I'm gonna miss the residency match date for 2015!

I think time doesnot matter but you should clear your concepts during the first read of preparation

depending on subject, chapter difficulty and amount (for instance some path-chapters took me 4 and even 5 days to finish)

it's up to you.

A friend of mine had exactly 5 weeks to prepare for the exam so he used FA and Uworld and scored 243.

Theres a diagram somewhere online where they tell you the most effective preparation time for AMGs, most of them only take 6 weeks and the more time you take the more you are probably forgetting of the stuff you learned 5 months ago.
