Kaplan Medical kaplan for biochemistry is so bad!!!

Hello,

I finished kaplan for biochem and genetics, it is so bad for biochem, in fact it is a disaster but it is perfect for genetics.

After finishing the biochem part I felt that I do not know anything, and that I do not understand anything, I started reading biochem from First Aid and it is much simpler, clearer and easier than kaplan.

Do you agree with that? and what should I do?
Should I reread kaplan? is First aid alone enough for biochem? should I try high yield for molecular biology and biochem? I tried high yield for immuno and it was perfect

I found it quite useful. And I don't think FA is enough for BChem all by itself. Do a few question blocks in BChem, it might make more sense after that.

biochem and molecular biology is the hardest part of exam imo. kaplan helped me a lot. yes it's boring and timeconsuming, but it's worth it.
FA is defficient in these subjects and make notes from kaplan in it. also when you begin uw, esp in biochem section you'll see that kaplan does good job.

Cool

Kaplan for Bchem is awesome! It will take multiple reads for the material to be ingrained in your mind.

Complete the first read with video lectures as there are some important points in there and they help with the concept building. Once you get done with it, do the second read on your own. Take your time and do not dare to rush through it By the time you are done with third read, you will have a wonderful grasp of the subject.

I sort of agree with you. The material in the book does not stay in my head lol
And yes, biochemistry from First Aid is easier...I added material from Kaplan which was deficient in First Aid, and now I'll just be doing First Aid. There isn't that much actually. You could consider doing it too. It takes only a few days

Well I have to agree with Goljan and Taus (from Taus method) when they say that the biochem LN are the best by far out of the whole kaplan series. I suggest you do 3 reads and annotate into FA. And definitely watch the videos as Sam Turco is darn good.
