Question Spastic vs Atonic Bladder?

Hi there,

Was reading something about bladder disorders and came across two pathologies in which the location of SC damage determines the type of bladder dysfx. by definition, spastic bladder results from damage to SC above the sacral segment. the balddder gets its parasympathetic input from S2,S3,S4 which causes contraction of the detruser muscle . What i don't understand is why the bladder becomes spastic (overly active) when you damage the SC above the origin of parasympathetic control? it seems like by doing so, you're inhibiting parasympathetic control so that its over active by why is that?

any ideas?
