Kidney Uric acid precipitation

A 50 year old male who is being treated for acute leukemia develops oliguria because of multiple uric acid crystals. The principle site of uric acid precipitation is:

A) Proximal tubules due to impaired uric acid transport;
B) Proximal tubules due to high solute concentration;
C) Loop of Henle due to urine hypoosmolarity;
D) Distal tubules due to high urine flow rate;
E) Collecting ducts due to low urine ph.

Would go with E, uric acid crystals have limited solubility mainly in acidic environment

Default uric acid absorption

I would go with a .When uric acid concentrations increase the carrier will get saturated and uric acid will appear in the urine.An acidic pH may increase the chances of its precipitation to form stones . What is the answer?

E) collecting ducts due to low urine pH-----
uworld explanation---uric acid is soluble at physiological pH but precipitate in acidic environment

Correct answer is E) Collecting ducts due to low urine ph, because uric acid precipitates at a low ph and the lowest ph is in the distal tubules and collecting ducts.
