USMLEWorld UW-freefalling score phase!

Wanted to know if anyone's in the same boat as I am..
My UW is consistently falling from an earlier average of 80 to much lower now. I've only done 14 tests so far. Taking the exam on the 15th of November. Hit a very low score today, and broke down! (It was test number 13). Want to aim for a 250+. Crazy depressed, and though I realize a lot of my mistakes are owing to problem in recall, I just barely have time to review FA again. Have a major exam in two days too. Want to know if anyone's been through/currently going through this UW-freefalling score phase. I've always taken exams surrounded with friends, and have done well too, but this is the first exam that I'm taking alone. Feel terribly isolated, and I practically am isolated in a room studying all day. Darkest period of my life, breaking down wouldn't help me one bit, but would help to know how others are coping. Thanks.

Been thinking, but with just about 5 weeks to go with the Exam, wouldn't want to try a new environment!
Guess I must review FA, even if very little a day as much as I can..

PS. Great signature, and so truee!!!

i am in same position buddy.started with high 80s but average is like 71% now and keeps on going down even 60% sometimes
you have to definitely go through fa in last week to exam.
just learn as much as possible from uworld and cram all fa b4 going in for exam.
am writing on nov 29th
goodluck

Hey! I think its normal for your test scores to fluctuate. My scores vary by 20% percent sometimes from one test to the next! (and im doing it subject wise ) And UW is supposed to be a learning tool, not to assess yourself so as long as your learning why you made the mistakes or concept behind it, i think it will work out just fine.

And with recall, that according to me is the hardest part of this exam. So FA is a must!!! Especially in the last week before the exam, you have to do FA!!

And you've only done 14 tests of uworld by now? With test in a month.. starting with 80% is great, but how many blocks are you doing in a day?

Basically, i wouldnt worry so much about my uworld score. Take some self assessments soon to really know where you stand.

Good luck!! Were all in the same boat at some point or the other.

We are all in the same boat...I am not a very bright student...I usually get 45-55% in a block ...Sometimes I get 23% and yesterday I got 28%.And that let me down so much that I didn't study the whole day.I am an old graduate.Exam on dec 20.HOPEFULLY.

My cumulative dropped from 55% to 40 %...But I am committed.I don't care even I it goes down to 10%.Most of the mistakes I make are bcos I think there is a catch in the question and eventually i choose the wrong answer to a very easy question. But then I think I better make as many mistakes I can before the exam ,rather than making em in the real exam.

I did a couple of blocks from the marked and wrong questions and got 93% and 70% in those respectively....One reason was that I remembered answers to some of the questions...But I noticed that I could get the diagnosis and without looking at the answers I could say what the answer is.

Good Luck.

Thank you so much, you guys! Feel much better about the uw score situation!
Well yes it's definitely helping with learning, but it's shocking when you have a decent start and it starts free-falling to a pit! Tried to collect myself, and the score has improved just a little bit
Dr SK, I'm doing 2 blocks on average per day. Would be one block a day if something comes up (Like have this post-grad exam a day later that I have to prepare for!). How many blocks per day are you doing, and how far are you from the exam?

Well Im trying to give my exam by nov end maybe, just want to try as soon as possible. However still going through my first run of UW. Im only able to do one block a day which is why its taking me forever! And i know most people do manage 2 blocks which is great. I wish i could do that..
I mean any tips from anyone on HOW TO go faster with the blocks? Even when i get a decent score, i end up taking forever on reviewing because i read each and every explanation (i hope it pays off later):sorry:

And dockhi thats great you can do at least one block with still another exam. Keep it up!

Hey preeti, I havn't done UsmleRx, so i cant comment on it, but i heard its good. But only good as a supplement along with Uworld. Uworld is a must, recommended by every single person who's taken the exam. So I suggest you either hurry up and finish usmleRx or just leave it for now and sign up for uworld asap. And of course NBME's are a must too
This is my opinion. Im sure other's would agree.
