Heart Myocardial Hibernation

Can anyone clarify the concept regarding Myocardial hibernation and myocardial shunting. How this thing is clinically relevant?

As i can understand from UW explanation

Myocardial hibernation- When heart undergo frequent ischemic attach it kinda goes into hibernation stage with all its activities like contraction, Ca2+ pump are suppressed.

Whereas myocardial shunting is just a less severe form of ischemia induced contraction loss. Multiple myocardial shunting can lead to hibernation state.

So if there any point i should know about these terms?
and are these bodies compensatory mechanism to prevent myocardial infaction?
One day i will infect these microbes and they will search for "Anti-MEbiotic"....
