Neuro The Brainstem; Is it a high yield topic!

Hey all
I was just reading neuroanatomy from Kaplan lecture notes and FA ..
I am really confused .. FA explains the subject very briefly .. Kaplan? Many many details, I am not even sure if we need all these details!

To be specific, Brain stem pages in Kaplan lecture notes are full of many details .. do we really need to memorize all of them?

Any ideas?

I also noticed the same when i was doing neuroanatomy but i think we cannot overlook neuroanatomy.

According to my seniors advice Brainstem cross sections, cranial nerve nuclei & their lesions are quite high yield & frequently tested topics.

It is very high yield. Its a tough subject but just keep thinking while studying "this is what seperates a pass from a fail".

By far the best book you will use for neuroscience, including the photos they use in the exam is

Neuroscience.

This neuroscience book is short and sweet and has EVERYTHING you need to be above average in the USMLE step 1.
