Thumbs Down Failed Step 1 171/71. Is that END of the world?

Hi all.
Very upset about it because I had a feeling that didn't done well after exam.

I will not give up.
But my question is:

Does it mean that I have no chance to apply? is there a cutdown for applications with fails?

Thank you.

Default yes and no

Im in the same situation, failed once with 172, close to yours. We do still have a chance, but yes, one of the filters will be number of attempts.... so, lets do the best we can do to pass other filters

Wink Don't Stop

Don't Stop! Go and try harder and if you can get a 240-250+ in 2nd attempt, although you failed it shows your urge and ability and will definitely make a mark on your application in the situation you are in now. So, it is mandatory to do much much better in the 2nd attempt and if you try hard enough i guarantee you can reach that high target. Goodluck! Worst case scenario if you don't get it, you will still have the satisfaction to yourself that you didn't give up and you kicked back at it right? Put your best effort and forget about the result.

i haven't taken my step 1 yet but i will tell you that you guys shouldn't stop right now, especially because you have plenty of weapons for residency at your disposal(eg: a second attempt at step 1, step 2 ck and cs, lors, etc). Had you exhausted all those options, then i wouldn't know what to say. However failing step 1 isn't the end of the world.

you need to be strong, block out everything and make step 1 your main focus. do not worry about having failed it once. block it out and aim for a 230+.

after thats done, repeat the same scheme for step 2. Block out all distractions and focus completely on step 2 ck cs.

there is still a very good chance for you to get a good residency, just play your cards right. hope this helps
