Help DIT vs More of Self preparation

Which is better, to do DIT or read by urself, revise and go through your weakareas? I have 6 weeks to my exam. Started UW now...What is more productive of the two alongwith UW?
I have old DIT 2010 LECTURES.
Please reply Thanx

It looks you are in time crunch of 42 days in which you you have to do your full U world so its best to stick to traditional prep and eliminate DIT plus 2010 version is outdated so do questions and keep on revising your weak areas.
(I would have recommended you DIT 2011/2012 version if you had around 2 months left which allows you to do DIT ,U world plus revise your weak areas and U world notes)

P.S can you please give answer to my old post

"Awesome score Lara considering the fact that you haven't done U World...which can surely give you a boost of 20-30 points....

Can you please share your journey till now as I suppose you have only done Kaplan bank(offline subject wise)?????? so how tough/doable it was to reach 220+ in nbme 12 after doing kaplan books and bank???"

Best luck

Thank you offspite and sorry for not replying in time to your query.I have done KLN for all subjects excEPT pATHOLOGY for which I used Goljan.Did 2 reads alongwith KLN QBank offline.Form12 was quite tricky. What I learned from doing NBME online is that during the exam you have the added pressure imposed of timing which you dont get while doing oFFLINE Qbank or NBME.This is v.imp as I have found that I made about 2-5 mistakes purely because I was rushing through the mcqs havin an eye on the watch. So I would say do ONLINE NBME atleast 2.You can do qbank offline and its better to do it subjectwise so that you get a good grip of whole subject.QBank is very good and I found many Q,s on NBME which were of the same difficulty level as Qbank and/or testing the same concept! So do it. One morething I realised is that exam is very conceptual So You just cant memorise the FA and write it,got to understand FA fully.Every word in FA is an mcq but to pick it up u need background knowledge.

Plus what else are you plannin on doing these last few weeks? Good luck

Hey Mine also in last week of December hopefully.I did DIT and UW since last NBME about a month back.DIT was helpful. It helped reinforce things. If you have done it once then dont do it again IMO.Revising FA and UW notes now will be more helpful.I am also planning on doing FA in the remaining time and will take an NBME in about 10 days.GOODLUCK TO BOTH OF US
