Question Ribozyme treatment of ALS

Approximately 10% of patient with familial Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis has autosomal dominant mutation on copper/zinc superoxide dismutase gene SOD1. One therapy under investigation for treatment of this disease is hammerhead ribozyme. Which of the follwoing best descibed a mechanism by which hammerhead ribozyme treat ALS?
A ribozyme mediated degradation of mutant SOD1 mRNA
B ribozyme mediated destruction of mutant SOD 1 gene
C ribozyme mediated inhibition of mutant SOD 1 mRNA splicing
D ribozyme mediated inhibition of translation of SOD1 mRNA gene
E ribozyme mediated inhibition of transcription from mutant SOD1 mRNA
F ribozyme mediated targeting of mutant SOD1 protein for destruction by proteosome

Default Answer

The answer is A .. Ribozymes are RNA catalytic enzymes that cleave mRNA .. ( they can cleave themselves too .. auto catalytic ..)
