How are you doing FA? just reading it?
I've taken Kaplan (our school kinda makes us take it) and then I did Uworld once and have done DIT twice and goljan once. Still don't feel prepared at all. I've taken practice tests and not getting the results I want. Not sure what else I can do. I want to do goljan once more, and possibly pathoma once more and go through Uworld again.

Just looking to see what others are also doing!
Have u heard about USMLERx flash cards?

I am going through the FA for the 1st time and i am planning on annotating it when i start uworld. Where did you find difficulty on UW? Based on what you have said, it looks like you need to work on your test taking skills rather than the reading. How long have you been studying? If we take too long we are going to hurt our performance more.Do you have a study partner? That helps a lot actually. Have you gone through the other subjects in KLN? I think you should keep doing more questions and jot down notes and review them after tests, and annotate the FA and do it more. Have you done that already? Pathoma is good but it is limited as in comparison to Goljan. Are you nervous during the tests?

Regd.the USMLERx flash cards i heard they were good, but i haven't tried them myself. Hopefully i can find some before my exam and use them.

Sabio one of the staff members of this forum has mentioned it neat and short in the following thread:

The Essentials or the In-Between Information!

You look like you are in pretty good shape. Have you taken the NBME's yet? How have you been scoring on the uworld? You have annotated the FA?

Thanks! Yeah I think i'll stick to Goljan. I don't have a study partner. I have been studying since September. I just want to start doing well on NBME's before I go and take the real thing. I think working on test strategies is needed. I am probably going to buy the flashcards so will let u know how they turn out!
Do u have any recommendations for physiology and molecular bio? Those are still my worst.

Hey, I had the same problem. Physiology and molecular bio. I did kaplan in class, did the videos again by myself, watch pass videos , did DIT twice and listened to Goljan Audios more than 5 times bla bla bla. But my physiology was only a star on the left on my NMBE.

One of my upper semester who struggled and passed the step after the 2nd time told me to get help from a Tutor like the pass program is offerring. The problem with pass program is, unless you attend the program, you can't get the touter hours. The programis $4K for 4 weeks and $8K for 8 weeks plus the cost of food, living, and air travel. Pass gives you 2 sessions of free tutoring per week, but after that it is $200/ session.

I got a tutor who passed step 1, 2 and 3 before starting residency. He also is IMG so he knows pretty much everything about how to help students. But he is 4th year resident and you need to work around his schedule and he has a lot of students.

He helped me a lot to relate and connect the topics together and helped a lot with my physiology and pathophysiology.

If you are doing good in path, biochem and organ systems, like cardio and respiratory, and your physiology score is not high, you KNOW the info, you just don't know how to connect everything or relate them together and that is when reading and watching videos will not help. Get a tutor.

I hope this help. I was struggling and I am still struggling. But when I see I went from star to a line to the midline on my NMBE, I am having some hope.

Good luck.

Hi everyone. I hope everyone are busy with step1 preparations. I am also giving my step 1 in Jan. I would like to know what phase of preparations are you in. I am sure everyone is going through a lot of stress and its the same with me as well. So let's post what phase of preparation are you guys in.

I am doing Uworld at the moment and am planning to do UWSA after that followed by NBMEs. Can anyone suggest me which online NBME is the best one if am doing like two online tests ?

Wish you all the very best

Hey I am taking it on 23rd Jan. Currently doing my 3rd read of kaplans. Done with UW with cumulative of ~70percent at random timed. Should I do Kaplan Qbank? or just do UW again? Took NBME 12 and got 228 a few weeks back. What should I focus on during the last month?

Hey.
I've taken one NBME (6) and didn't do as well as I hoped so going to take another one this week and one next week to see where I stand.

I've done DIT twice, taken a Kaplan course that was offered by our school as part of 5th semester, Goljan audio once and Uworld once. I am in the process of doing physio Qbank on Kaplan (since Physio is my worst) and the Kaplan Qbank and will begin Uworld once again soon.

I think my problem is more so time management. I stress out and can't think properly when taking standardized tests so I am going to begin working on that.

What about you?? Whats your plan?
