Default Cranial Nerve Nuclei are driving me CRAZY!

As far as specific names go, 2010 FA only lists these:

Nucleus Solitarius
Nucleus Ambiguus
Dorsal Motor nucleas

as for the other one's, they tend to have much simpler names, corresponding to their associated nerves.

But what about knowing the anatomy? How deep should I go into knowing these really well? Or should I just know the general trends of Motor nuclei generally are medial, Sensory are lateral...
