USMLEWorld Time to finish Usmle World

Hey guys,

I'm planning on taking my Step1 exam in April & would like to know how long it takes to finish Usmle questions if you study hard everyday. I want to see if I'll be able to go through it twice or only once b4 my exam. Thank you very much and best of luck to everyone!

Hi,

It actually depends on each person's speed. It has 2179 questions which corresponds to roughly 47 standard sized blocks. So if you do 2 per day, it'll take you less than a month. It depends on you!

Default Thanks alot!

THank u sooo much! I'm so glad to hear that! And would u guys rather do USMLE world twice or USMLE world once & KAPLAN Qbank once? I know that it is better to do both more than once but I really don't have time to do them both.

Personally, I don;t like Kaplan Qbank. It's based on really small minutae which honestly nobody remembers. UWorld is harder but at least it's similar to the real exam. I'm gonna do Uworld twice and ditch Kaplan, if that helps

Can we start UW without memorizing anything yet? Like, I've read micro or pharm many times, but until I don't memorize, I'll feel like I'm guessing on the questions.

I'm personnally going to spend afew days right before starting UW memorizing the important things the lecturers have been pointing out during the videos. I think I'll be more comfortable with UW that way, plus, hopefully, I'll have less mistakes & less answers to copy then!

Thanks alot! I'm 100% sure that u'r totally right but still, ppl keep telling me (plus, i've seen it in a poll here) that we should do more than 4000 questions to be able to get good scores in the exam ( and i'm sure doing UW twice doesn't count). I guess I'll do UW twice and try to squeeze in afew offline questions whenever i can. Hope that raises my score abit

Yes you can and you should. Even if you have not memorized anything. By doing u world you will be able to access your strengths and weakness. It will also filter the HY info which will get reinforced once you do decide to memorize.
