Help Four Questions from a beginner

Hey Friends,

I am new here.
I want answers to the following questions:

1. Will Kaplan step 1 book and videos of 2008-2009 edition do or do i need to buy the new edition?
2. Whats the next step after you are done with Kaplan LN and videos?
3. What is the score that i must target to get medicine?
4. How long will i take to get an appointment for step 1 after I register for it?

1. Don't know, but I think it will work as long as u buy the FA 2013 and the Q bank

2. For sure FA and do q's, doing questions is so important, we always want to to it when we finish all the materials so we can get awesome score in the Qbank, but u should do it along with kaplan. I know a lot of people that do a NBME after kaplan but I think its better to do it after you have read FA at least 1 time, and have quite experience with you q bank questions.

3. I don't know, are you asking for internal medicine? probably 200 or over and us clinical experience. But you always need to work for the best score, there is a lot of competition.

4. After you register you need to send the 186 form, that your school send, can take 1 or 2 weeks depending on your school, u need to pay the test, and after that it can take from 2 to 3 weeks to process, once its processed they send u and email and in about 2 to 3 days, the send u the schedule in permit, once u have it, u can make and appointment on prometric website. I did this a long time ago so I don't remember exactly.

Remember that everyone is different you need to do what's best for you and never compared yourself with the people in this forum or put yourself down.
