Listening Am I studying the right material?

hello everybody!!!, i just started studying for my step 1. i am iMG

i have been reading alot of info lately on these forums. and i need help for my preperation. (kinda freaking out)

i am currently doing The kaplan LN with videos (because i feel i am very weak in almost every subject lol) I read almost 3 chap a day with time to learn and understand the material

i am changing some things also:

from what a i have read on the forms i should read the goljan rr instead of the kaplan ln and also i plan to just study the microbiology from just the LN with no videos.

so far i have just done anatomy and physiology from kaplan with uworld... subject wize.. as in.... everytime i got done with a topic i would use uworld questions on just that topic.

right now i plan on to start biochem LN and finish it in 2 week with Videos.

my plan is to study Kaplan ln after that do FA alone with Uworld twice hopefully and in the last month before my exam i plan to do doctors in training

i need advice if i am studying the right way. I plan to take my exam in august 2013hopefully i have time to do all the things i am planning to study from. I made myself a schedual every day of what i am support to finish on a perticular day.

thanks in advance any advice will be appreciated

Default kaplan

There is allot of material that you will forget in the microbiology section of kaplan LN for step 1. use it to understand the concept but dont rely on it for memorization as the volume is too much.use fa for that.

Kaplan LN with videos is the best way to start. My wife just finished step 1 and scored 245/88 and I am planning to take it in April. Both of us started off with Kaplan LN / videos.

Next thing we did was Kaplan Qbank - this is not as good as UWorld Qbank but you should save UWorld for after you are a little more prepared as their questions are more like the real boards.

Instead of Kaplan path, she did not even touch that book - she did goljan with goljan lectures (you can find them online almost anywhere)

First Aid twice, UWorld twice, and a few NBMEs and that was her study schedule.

She also did USMLE Khan's Cases for the behavioral part in addition to conrad fisher. Conrad fisher's ethics took me just two days to get through but it's not as good for studying as Khan's Cases...
