Smile Are you losing hope? You shouldn't

first of all i am not posting this thread as an outstanding experience,,yet i am talking to those who think that they had reached the end of the road..
second thing i apologize if i am posting this thread in a wrong section or something

i am an img graduated with very good grades"excellent with high honors,,and i decided to start with the long exhausting usmle trip,i took FA as a main source and i didnt review any forums as i thought that would be easy for someone like me,and it ended with a score of 187/74

what i did wrong
i did uworld chapterized 80%
didnt review the notes i wrote down
didnt take any nbme or uwsa
i rushed my timeline and didnt accept the fact that i should take nbme to see where i am standing and study more.
for a whole month before the exam i didnt answer a single mcq,,was studying fa purely
after i saw my results i said thats the end of it,,,i am not into that kinda studying ,,i am done.

but a friend of mine,,,he is an amg,,told me that getting a 187 with the way i studied is actually very good,,it was the first time i see mixed questions or answering 7 blocks during the exam, and that was the turning point

i decided to go on after reviewing my report to see my weak areas

i bought kaplan qbank,,did the medium and hard questions
same with usmlerx
and finally of course uw did it twice and kept reviewing the questions i marked

my advice with uworld is to redo your incorrect questions several times as you will find many questions within the topic you are weak in...so you will build up and get new information everytime you answer your incorrect questions

studied FA with notes from uworld and kaplan to help with my weak areas

i did uwsa 1 214(2 months before the exam)
uwsa 2 240 (3 weeks to the exam)
nbme 12 214 (2 weeks to the exam)

and i decided to sit for the exam as there was literally nothing to do anymore ,,i mean thats me and thats it

my score came today with a 218...satisfied as i won that challenge...so many people told me that if you failed your first attempt you cannot pass 200 in the second one which i wanted to prove wrong....not asking now if i am going to get residency or not but sure i will continue my journey cause i proved to myself today that miracles just happen...i will be very happy to answer any questions specially from those who have been in my situation

My only advice is to do mixed random timed questions as much as you can..you will be familiar with many principles during the exam...if you have some weak areas.....work on them before starting your qbanks...use kaplan along with fa for the weak areas so you can have a better understanding of what you are dealing with

for your weak areas...including pharma..use kaplan to have a better understanding of the subject and take notes into fa..u should read first aid untill you memorize it by heart along with understanding what you are memorizing ..fa is a great tool if you know whats underneath you are reading..read it 3-4 times..and when you start the qbanks..you will understand your weaker areas better
