Uridine..
Orotic aciduria.. Defect in denovo pyrimidine biosynthetic pathway.defeciency of enzyme activities OMP decarboxylase/ orotate phosphoribosyl transferase( both of which are domains of enzyme UMP synthase) leave patient unable to synthesize any pyrimidines.. Uridine is a pyrimidine nucleoside, it bypass the missing enzymes and can be converted to all other pyrimidines. Alrhough thymidine is a pyrimidine nucleoside, it cant be converted to other pyrimidines.
