congratulation, you did great, your score is really good, ignore 2 digit score, 3 digit is the important one. what was your material? can you share your experience please?

Thumbs Up

You have a very good score, definitely in for Internal Medicine. Median score for internal medicine acc. to STEP 1 FA 2013 is 226...you can to as high as derm and even plastics if you want. Please share your experience and study techinques so we all may benefit .

You can't jump to such conclusions based on a step 1 score! Soo many other factors play an equally important role. Right from Ck score, to CS pass on first attempt, to clerkships with good LORs, to visa status, year of graduation, AMG/IMG.

But yes, 248 is a good score, and IM is within striking distance alright, but don't relax just yet. Scores aren't everything.

Yes, All of the above and more do pay a role in which residency you will get placed into eventually. I just eluded that 248 is a good score.

what does 87 means in this score:

This year Majority of people who got IV [which you need to match] had scores over 240. Now there was the 230 and maybe couple of 200 but program by program matters. also those with 240 had IV where the others had IV. Now if you can get 240+ on both steps with any LOR it has shown that you will get matched to some IM program.

EVERYTHING else make you more competitive for competitive specialties and UNiversities.
