Arrow NBME 12 Concept

If a doc walks into a room and sees an old lady with urine mark/odor, what on earth is he supposed to say to her? I got that question wrong. I picked the answer choice that was the most open ended, just like how uworld taught us but still got it wrong!!

D: I know this can be embarassing <-thats the one where he says that sometimes old people have trouble controlling urine right?

The reasoning should be that when you ask the patient that do you have any problem which may be too embarrassed to talk about ? There are so many things which a patient can find embarrassing, for example SEX. And they won't understand what you mean by that.They don't know if you have already noticed urine smell.

Yes its a bit awkward but there is no other way you can mention her urine inconsistency.
