Hey guys, congrats! When do you guys suggest taking the practice test at the prometric center, a couple days before the exam or week/weeks before?

Some people say it's good because eases the anxiety and you feel prepared but seriously it's just a waste of money! if you did any qbank you're set for the exam day! you'll kick yourself later if you do it!

Here is what I did:

I studied about 4 months total. Everyday averaging about 10 hrs a day. I didn't have planned breaks, but when I started to feel exhausted, I took a good break. The first 3 months I went through all of the Kaplan books and made my own notes on sheets of blank paper. I didn't really go through FA that much in these first three months (as I feel FA does a real nice job hitting points, but not for a solid foundation of the material). I did NOT use Kaplan pathology, rather went through pathoma and made notes in a similar fashion.

My final month was key. I used DIT and went through FA, which helped hit home all the stuff I covered the previous 3 months. I did DIT in 15 days. The remaining 2 weeks, I went through FA two more times, going over stuff that I was having a hard time remembering. I didn't take any practice tests until about 6-7 weeks before my test date.

Here are my scores:

UWSA1: 221
UWSA2: 221
NBME 6: 207
NBME 12: 214
NBME 11: 231
NBME 13: 235

As from my above post, I got a 234, which was VERY close to my last NBME (13).

This might be challenging. I could see it MAYBE in 10 days (MAYBE).. a week seems a bit short, in my opinion.

I finished it in 15 days - and at this point I was putting in at least 10-11 hours of it a day (I also stopped and did all the quizzes).

I would recommend going through the videos in your weaker areas or areas you know you need repetition first… and then if have time finish the rest…. that is if you do decide to do DIT… but make sure you really hit FA in this last week and try not to exhaust yourself with new material

Yes no kaplan no goljan, but just to be very honest i studied exactly three chapters from kaplan biochem (glycolysis, gluconeogenesis and don't remember what was the third) i studied them at the begining of my prep then i focused on FA and uworld ONLY!
