Help Postponing test

Hello there,
I have been freaking out for my test hardcore. I have been constantly going at it for the last month. I havent taken any day off or anything. My body is exhausted, and my brain feels dead. right now i am 3 days away from my scheduled date. I took NBME 12 today, and bombed it. I did so bad, that i didn't even pass. I don't know why i thought the test only had 46 questions. For most block time expired before i even reached to question 46. so i never answered the last questions. I am so stupid.

last week i took uworld self-assessment#1, had gotten 221 on it. And week before that i took uworld assesment #1, had gotten 205. and 190 on NBME 7 a week before that. I just put in an application for extension on ECFMG. Not sure how long should i extend it by?

I haven't read first aid from front to back. I am also struggling with memorizing stuff. I also can't answer questions fast enough, because i constantly run out of time. Today i spent 10 mins on just one question.. so i literally tried to play catch up and didn't read the questions properly at all. Do you guys have any recommendation it would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You should take a couple of days off. It is a good thing you postponed it since you are probably burned out by now.

You must read FA from cover to cover before taking step 1. Some people do it twice, some thrice, etc

Do not try to memorize everything, it is better if you UNDERSTAND what is going on. Of course some stuff is pure memory, but most things tested in step 1 are about your ability to integrate physio, pharm, pathology into one question.

When taking a test, it is useful to categorize questions as "easy", "workable", or "impossible"

When you take NBME for example, answer the easy questions, and the ones you think you can figure out or the ones that seem impossible, MARK THEM and move on the next question.

There is no use in spending 10 minutes in one question if you have not yet finished the block.

Only after you finished the block, go back to the marked questions (even if they are 10), and once again figure out which ones are "workable" and which ones are "impossibles". For the impossibles, just take your best intelligent guess. For the other ones, use your time and try to figure them out.
