Unhappy First aid or KLN for second read?

I have finished first read from KLN. I want to start my second read but I'm bit confused. I can't decide whether I should start First Aid and after completing it give 2nd read to KLN or should I start second read of KLN and read First aid side by side?

I'm very confused guys need your suggestions.:sorry::sorry:

I would recommend that you don't read kaplan and first aid side to side but just focus on one thing, that way you can complete it faster. Since you finished Kaplan right now and it's fresh in your mind, you can perhaps read first aid which is around 584 pages only. After that you can do Kaplan again. The advantage of this is that you won't get burnt out from doing Kaplan again right after doing Kaplan. We tend to get bored easily with things, so maybe on your second run of Kaplan you may just end up completing it for the sake of completing it a second time and miss out on details, so thats why Kaplan, then first aid, and maybe kaplan after that might work out to be in your favor! Hope this helps!

In fact, if I was you, I would do Kaplan, then first aid 2 times! Then do Kaplan after doing first aid 2 times

My friend i would say that, do FA after 1st read of Kaplan. Then start solving questions. What you learnt in Kaplan and first aid would start showing up. If u find questions too difficult then u focus on your weak part/ subject. and u may read Kaplan again after solving some questions. Remember that all depends on ur time left. Also remember that the question banks should be used as learning tools.

Thank you guys for your responses. I still have around 5-6 months left in exam. I'll be doing FA and after I am finished I'll do second read of KLN.

With due respect I sort of disagree with some of the recommendations.

I am an 'old' IMG (graduated in 2006). Even I , only read Kaplan once. You don't need to do it again after you have familiarized yourself with the content.

I would suggest reading FA and doing subject wise questions in timed tutor mode.

After you complete your first read of FA and first round of UWorld - do an nbme assessment - you should score atleast around 200.

Then revise FA and do uworld all over again

If you have time then do kaplan qbank (doing Kaplan qbank is a better use of time than doing the kaplan books all over again)

Before the exam you should have done FA thrice. Cover to cover.

Anytime there are things you dont understand google/youtube/refer to Kaplan notes but I dont think you need to do Kaplan all over again, it is not the most effective use of time.

Having said all this, do what works for you. Find your own path

All the best!

Yea! U may want to read those concepts in Kaplan again only if u think u didn't understand it well during the first read if not multiple reading of Kaplan I also think is not necessary.
Having said that remember that, if u did highlight any part of Kaplan that u think its high yield then its only prudent to brush over them if u can.
