Info USMLE Step 1 Prometric Practice Test

Hello,

I was wondering how you guys did on the practice test (138 questions) at the prometric center.

I got a higher % of correct than what I have been usually getting on the NBMEs.

Is it well accepted that the practice test questions are simpler than NBMEs? (To me it did seem so). If yes, from past experience, the real exam is likely to be of the same difficulty level as the NBMEs, or the practice test ?

I would also appreciate if you could point out how much % correct you got on the practice test, and how much you got on your eventual step 1 exam, so I can get some idea where I stand.

Appreciate any feedback.
Thanks.

Just to add, I have seen some calibration tables on the web, that convert the % correct on the practice exam to a projected 3 digit score.

I am skeptical since the projected score I get based on that, is almost 40-50 different from what I get on the NBMEs, which honestly seems too much to believe.

Hence, it anyone could post their own data, (% correct on practice exam and eventual step 1 score), it would be a big help.

the practice test at prometric just makes you familiar with the procedure of the exam, the exam environtment and the exam software (how to use it etc) but it doesn't really reflect how well you'll do on the actual exam. NBMEs and UWorld assessment form would give a more accurate assessment of your actual performance on the Step 1 exam.

Agree with mdpharm. But to answer your question
I got around 90% on the practice test (dont recall exact number) an got 243 in the real deal. You can draw your conclusions from that.

I think the prometric questions are easier than the real exam and the NBME questions are harder.

Do Uworld assessments and NBME and then you will get an idea of the 'range' your score will fall in. I got around 230 in Nbme and around 250 in uworld. Actual score was 243

Good luck!
