Thank you!
Preparation
I am old IMG, finished medical school in Armenia in 2002, finished ob/gyn residency in 2006 and made PhD in ob/gyn in 2009. Started to study 14 months ago. Attended kaplan live lecture class in the beginning, found it useless, may be because i wasn't prepared for it(everybody in class were in second reading, I didn't start reading even yet). So two months of lecture were time wasting. Then I started KLN first reading with video, parallel with kaplan qbank untimed not random(too detailed, but definitely must done if you have time). Average on kaplan qbank was 65%. First reading took 6-7 months, due to that fact that I have forgotten a lot in basic subjects(more to say immunology, biochemistry were like first time reading). Then KLN second reading with Goljan RR(for me useless- a lot of information that is not high yield, usefull topics hematology, acid-base relations and cardiology) with kaplan qbank again timed random(average 85%). Then KLN review on weakest points. After NBME form 12- got 220. Start FA with uworld(average 70 % on first time, amazing tool but for learning, don't use as assessment for knowledge). UWORLD exam 1 after it - 247, uworld exam 2 - 257. After second FA read, and two weeks before exam free 150- 85%, NBME 7 - got 230, was shocked and even thinking to postpone exam. Then review of weak points according to nbme diagram.
Exam- Didn't sleep well the night before exam, was so anxious, first block was easy and I relaxed. 6th block was toughest. On average i marked 10 questions in each block, some of them was wtf questions, so i just made guess. After exam i fill me very exhausted, remembered some questions where i made silly mistakes, and decided to undergo suppression defense mechanism - quit thinking, visited my friends and spent beautiful time with them.
So in conclusion exam is doable, just study hard and you will get it.I had lack of motivation in the beginning, but never lost yourself, remember nothing is impossible. For me most predictive was Uworld assessment exam 1. for ct scans, I google images, but i think KLN+Uworld is enough. Did not use brs, but in my opinion everybody has own study design, I mean, that a lot of steptakers advised me to read goljan, but for me it was useless, got more confused after reading book. The bottom line everybody has to decide what book to study with. For me KLN+ video+FA+ kaplan and uworld qbanks. Also exam is doable, hard but doable, because I have good study partner-my wife, we took exam same day and pass it both.
Want to say sorry for my english and fussy post, I think that it will be useful.

No in Maryland. I did free 150 exactly before exam(2 or 3 days).Main reason was to get comfortable with fred, to listen tutorial once again, skipping it you'll gain additional 15 minutes. But one of mine questions on exam was from free 150.

harder, no doubt, actually the main purpose of using free 150 was to be comfortable with fred, as i said in previous topics.

Awesome Gikson. Great score. I know exactly how you feel - I am also an old IMG (2006) but away from clinics since 2008. I just gave step 1 and got 243. Was quite happy.

You have just validated what I am beginning to realise is a very good way of studying for the exam. Mine was quite similar - except no golijan, kaplan qbank only once, no courses.

I have started studying for CK and am in Marylan too. Would be nice to connect if you like you can send me a message.
