Question Kaplan Biochem: of the 3 sections, do you find metabolism the most time consuming?

i have a sort of weak background in molecular biochem. a STRONG background in metabolism. and a semi-strong background in genetics.

BUT, so far i am finding the Metabolism section to be the longest, most invovled, etc.

whereas the molecular biochem section i finished in just 1 day.

i this pretty much the same for everybody else?

yes, that's exactly what i'm doing right now. i went really fast on the molecular biochem part. and now slowed down on metabolism.

i'm a very paranoid type of person, which is why i tend to look for extra details that is not in the kaplan (for instance the sorbitol accumulation in diabetes).

i think i just need to somehow put my faith/trust in these kaplan books, and just get on with it. i think tomorrow i will have a different attitude, and just stick with ONLY the kaplan lecture notes for biochem, and the videos.

i already have my own notes written (from lippincot), and i feel that by not utilizing those notes, that i wasted my time writing them. i know for a fact that a lot of the things i wrote notes from in lippincotts, i will NOT be tested on, but psychologically i feel that i've written notes on it, so i shoudl read it. i know, i'm crazy like that!!!!!

Remember that these books make us remember the concepts we have forgotten and those we don't know. So it's good to get the details but don't waste all ur time on it. Once u solve the questions and the end of each chapter and u feel like u are ok move on. The topics I thought I knew so. Well I got the questions wrong and later realized I didn't get the concept s well meanwhile I spent expensive time on that chapter. So u the books to build concept and understanding then wen solving questions u would reinforce the concepts. Remember that the average student would forget most of the detail parts which may need frank memorization. all the best.
